Let's talk about embouchure.You probably already know the basics of producing a good tone. But if you are having problems with getting the tone quality you want, consider adjusting one of the following variables:
-how much reed you're taking into your mouth -what your tongue is doing (voicing or vowel shape) -the angle of the mouthpiece We spoke with several experts who advise the following: -lips meet reed where reed meets mouthpiece; you might use more mouthpiece than you would on soprano -"oh" shape for low register, "ah" for middle register, and "ee" for upper register -experiment with your posture to get a more comfortable angle; this will also be a little different than it is on soprano! |
