You probably already know the basics of producing a good tone. But if you are having problems with getting the tone quality you want, consider adjusting one of the following variables:
-how much reed you're taking into your mouth -how much, if at all, your lips are covering your teeth -how much space is between your lips We spoke with several experts who advise the following: -reed in mouth up to first wire -lips in front of teeth, like a whistle -always keep room between your teeth, even as jaw pressure varies. Of course, air is a huge part of playing with good tone as well! Your setup can make a difference too, so keep your reeds in good condition. We suggest purchasing handmade reeds for the best quality. |
